Dominican Chargers Defeat Holy Family University, 65-51
Blauvelt, NY (1/11/07) The Dominican College mens basketball team improved to 7-6 overall and 6-2 in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) after posting a 65-51 victory over Holy Family University this evening on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center. With the loss, Holy Family University drops to 10-4 overall and 5-2 in the CACC.

Blauvelt, NY (1/11/07) The Dominican College men's basketball team improved to 7-6 overall and 6-2 in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) after posting a 65-51 victory over Holy Family University this evening on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center. With the loss, Holy Family University drops to 10-4 overall and 5-2 in the CACC.
The Tigers started the game with a 5-0 run but DC took the lead on a three point bucket by senior Prince Jackson (Schenectady, NY). Dominican jumped out to a 30-15 lead with 6:14 to go in the half on a lay up Keynon Jackson (Harlem, NY). The Chargers took a 32-24 lead into halftime.
In the second half, Dominican led by as many as 23 points, but the Tigers cut it to 12 with 1:04 left on a lay up by Ryan Lancaster (Egg Harbor, NJ). However, junior Shelton Gibbs (Jersey City, NJ) hit two free throws to seal a 65-51 victory.
The Chargers were led Prince Jackson with 25 points. Gibbs had the game's only double-double with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Keynon Jackson and Chaz Holloway (Caldwell, NJ) each had eight points in the win.
The Tigers were led by Lancaster with 18 points and seven rebounds. Edward Greene-Long (Winston-Salem, NC) added 12 points and seven rebounds, while Andrew Presner (Southampton, PA) added nine points.
Dominican is back in action on Saturday when they travel to Philadelphia University in CACC men's action. Game time is set for 4pm.
