Dominican's Jackson Named To All-Met Team
New York (April 11, 2006) -- Andre Dabney of Bloomfield was named the 2005-06 All-Met Division II men's college basketball player of the year Tuesday by the National Invitation Tournament and the Met Basketball Writers Association.

Bloomfield was named the 2005-06 All-Met Division II men's college
basketball player of the year Tuesday by the National Invitation
Tournament and the Met Basketball Writers
Association.
James Cosgrove of Adelphi was selected coach of the year for the second consecutive season.
Joining Dabney on the All-Met first team: Bradd Wierzbicki, Queens; Danny Terrell, Bloomfield; Jean Georges, Caldwell; Kimani Blaize, Adelphi; Raheim Lowery, Dowling.

A junior guard from Plainfield, N.J., Dabney led the Deacons with 18.9 ppg and 83 steals, and had a high scoring game of 50 points against Dominican. His 2.7 steals per game ranked 14th this season in NCAA Division II.
In his fourth season at the helm, Cosgrove coached the Panthers to the NYCAC regular season (19-1) and tournament title, a 27-5 overall record and an NCAA postseason berth, where they lost in the second round.
Jackson, who hails from Schenectady, NY, was a first-team All-CACC pick after averaging a team-best 19.1 ppg, which ranked fifth in the CACC. He also ranked ninth in field-goal percentage (54.1) and fourth in 3-point percentage (41.4).
