MEN'S GOLF OPENS SPRING SEASON WITH FIFTH PLACE FINISH AT SOUTHERN SWING INVITATIONAL
Loris, SC (3/4/12) The Dominican College men's golf team opened up the spring part of their season in a tie for fifth place finish among nine other teams at the Dowling Southern Swing Invitational held at the Diamondback Golf Course. The event, which was scheduled for 36 holes, ended today after all players completed their opening round of 18 holes due to rain.

Dowling, the host of the tournament, finished in first place, followed by Post, St. Thomas Aquinas College, Davis & Elkins, Dominican, West Virginia Wesleyan, College of St. Rose, Mars Hill and Felician College.
Dominican finished with a team score of 543 to finish 53 strokes above the par-72 course.
Sophomore Keith Prokop (Ramsey, NJ) and freshman Anthony Schifano (Ramsey, NJ) finished in a six-way tie for seventh place with a total score of 79.
Freshman Michael Morton (Hawthorne, NJ) shot an 85 and finished in a three-way tie for 25th place.
Captain Bryan Romagnoli (Waldwick, NJ) and Jeffrey Sabella (Budd Lake, NJ) tied for 28th place with a round of 86.
Carlos Fonacier (Valley Cottage, NY) finished in a three-way tie, along with Eric Reiher (Milford, PA) with a score of 95.
DC is back in action on March 24th and 25th at the St. Thomas Aquinas College Spring Invitational.
