2010-2011 Dominican College Men’s Golf Season Summary
The Dominican College Chargers Golf Team entered the 2010-2011 as one of the youngest squads in the CACC. The team had their best finish of seventh place at CACC Championships.
Much of the fall season was spent shuffling players in and out of the lineup to establish player positioning and team starters. The players worked very hard, practiced and played to the best of their abilities while strengthening their skills and developing a positive attitude. That positive attitude continued into the spring where player and team play improved. The team posted their best individual and team scores in the spring.
Freshman Keith Prokop posted the team’s best individual finish with a sixth place showing at the Dowling College Tournament. He was named the team’s Most Valuable Player (MVP) at Awards Night.
Sophomore Lewis Morse finished the season as the team’s second leading scorer behind Prokop. For his efforts, Morse received the team’s Coach’s Award and was named team co-captain.
By the end of the season, the team had developed a solid core of players to lead next year’s squad. With four strong retuning players and five talented incoming players, the team and coaching staff are looking forward to an exciting and productive 2011-2012 season.
