2009-10 Dominican College Men's Golf Season Preview
The Dominican College men's golf team looks forward to the upcoming season with great enthusiasm. The team captured their first ever Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championship in 2008, defeating 19 teams at the Long Island National Golf Course. Senior AJ Lee was the tournament medalist, following a dramatic one hole playoff. Lee also finished as the number one individual player in the NCAA East Region qualifying him for the NCAA Division II Super Regionals held at the Glades Resort in West Virginia. Lee finished in 23rd place and for his efforts was named to the NCAA East All-Region Team. Lee's appearance in the Super Regionals marked the 5th consecutive year that the Chargers Golf Team has competed in this post season event. One of the team's primary goals this season is to keep this streak alive.
This season's team will be led by team captain, senior Brian Kivlehan, with returning sophomore members James Reppert and Bryan Romagnoli. Three incoming freshman complete the team's roster, Lewis Morse, who hails from Aurora, NY; Jeffrey Sabrella , from Budd Lake, NJ; and Michael Ciabattari from New Hampton, NY.
Head Coach, Wayne Mackey, along with returning Assistant Coaches, Brian Mackey and Adam Grant, have put together a challenging Fall Season. The coaching staff is eager to begin working with the players in preparation for a successful 2009-2010 season. The team looks forward to solid leadership from the team captain and returning players as well as good play from the incoming freshman.
