MACKEY FINISHES TIED FOR 32ND PLACE AT NCAA DIVISION II
MEN'S GOLF CHAMPIONSHIPS
Houston, TX (5/17/08) Charger golfer, Brian Mackey, finished the final round of the NCAA Division II Men's Golf Championships at the Memorial Park Golf Course in a four-way tie for 32nd place out of 104 golfers.
This afternoon Mackey, a senior who hails from
Chestnut Ridge, NY, fired a final round of 73 (+3). He
started off on the back nine and had five bogeyes in nine holes to
finish five over par. On the front nine he birdied the first
hole, shot for par on the second hole and birdied the third to be
four over. After a par on hole five, he birdied the sixth
hole and shot for par in the final three holes for the round of 73
(+3).
Mackey finishes the four-day NCAA Championships
with a total score of 287 (+7). He shot a 72 on the first day
and followed with rounds of 71, 71 and 73 to put him in the
four-way tie for 32nd place.
