Goldey-Beacom Holds On To Lead At NCAA Golf Regional

Wheeling, WV - Goldey Beacom saw their lead shrink, but the Lightning still hold a five-shot edge heading into the final round of the NCAA Division II Men's Northeast Region Golf Tournament at Speidel Golf Club. GBC's total of 632 is five shots clear of St. Thomas Aquinas (637). Four-time defending champion Bryant scored the day's best total with a 307 to pull within eight strokes of the lead.

Adam Goinsalvos of Southern New Hampshire posted a three-over par 75 to take the individual lead. His 36-hole total of 152 is a stroke better than New Haven's Brent Silano and Goldey Beacom's Michael Tobiason.

Dominican's Justin Jacarusso shot a 75 to spark his team's 31-stroke improvement over yesterday's performance. Domincian is fourth in the team race (647) after carding a 308 on Tuesday. Jacarruso is also fourth in the individual standings at 156.

Tommy Dorso (Pace), Dan McCarthy (LeMoyne), Dan Peck (Bryant), and Dan Psinakis (Pace) comprise a pack tied for fifth with matching 157 totals.

The event concludes Wednesday. The regional team champion will advance to the NCAA Division II National Championship on May 16-19, hosted by the Resort at Glade Springs in Daniels, WV.
