BASEBALL TABBED SECOND IN CACC PRESEASON POLL
New Haven, Conn. (2/13/13) – The Dominican College baseball team has been tabbed to finish in second place in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) as voted upon by the 11 CACC head baseball coaches. Wilmington University was the is the unanimous choice to finish atop the CACC.

The 2012 CACC Champions were tabbed as the team to beat this season, earning 11 first-place votes to stand alone atop the preseason poll. After handing Felician a 1-0 defeat in the eighth and final game of the CACC Championship, the Wildcats earned the fifth-seed in the NCAA East Region where they took LeMoyne to 10 innings before securing a 1-0 victory and the right to play Franklin Pierce. The Wildcats dropped a 7-1 decision to Franklin Pierce before bowing out of the NCAA East Regional Tournament with a 6-3 loss to Southern New Hampshire.
Dominican College earned 107 points and eight second-place votes after finishing last season with a 13-7 CACC record. The Chargers, a three-seed in last season's CACC Championship, saw their 2012 come to a close at the hands of Felician College; falling to the Falcons 7-4 in game seven of the Championship.
Felician, the 2012 CACC Regular-Season Champions, finished third in the preseason poll, earning 99 points and three second-place votes.
Holding onto the fourth spot in the poll was Nyack. The Warriors, 26-28 overall and 11-9 in the CACC last season, bowed out of the CACC Championship in the first round last season after suffering a 5-4 loss to Bloomfield who rounded out the top five, earning 68 points.
