DOMINICAN’S TONY BLAKE AND LEMOYNE RIGHT-HANDER CASEY CANNON NAMED NCBWA EAST REGION HITTER AND PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Bridgeport, CT (4/3/12) Junior outfielder Tony Blake of Dominican (N.Y.) College (Windsor, Conn.) and junior, right-handed pitcher Casey Cannon of LeMoyne College (Manasquan, N.J.) have been selected as the East Region National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Hitter and Pitcher of the Week for games played from March 26-April 1, 2012.

The Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference Player of the Week, Blake hit .500 (11-for-22) with a .727 slugging percentage over seven games last week, which saw the Chargers post a 6-1 mark. He scored 10 runs while adding a home run, four RBI, eight walks and three stolen bases.
Cannon, the Northeast-10 Conference Pitcher of the Week, posted a two-hit shutout in a 7-0 victory over American International on Wednesday afternoon. The junior struck out a career-high 11 batters and registered 19 outs before giving up his first hit.
