PIONEERS EDGE CHARGERS BASEBALL
Orangeburg, NY (3/27/12) The Dominican College baseball team lost a non-conference game to the visiting Pioneers of C.W. Post University, 5-4, this afternoon in a game played at the Veteran's Memorial Park. With the loss Dominican falls to 6-16 overall, while C.W. Post improves to 11-10 on the season.

The Pioneers put three runs on the board in the top of the first inning, but the Chargers got a run back in the bottom stanza as Andrew Camardella (Pelham, NY) doubled down the right field line to plate Tony Blake (Windsor, CT) to cut the deficit to 3-1.
C.W. Post extended the lead to 4-1 in the second and Dominican answered back with a run in the bottom of the third on a double to right field off the bat of Peter Martinez (White Plains, NY).
In the eighth, Camardella delivered a key one out two-run double to left-center field to tie the game, 4-4.
Errors in the ninth inning allowed the go ahead runner to get on base and who later scored on a fly out for the 5-4 C.W. Post victory.
Reliever Richard Leachy (Brookfield, WI) took the loss (0-2) in one inning of work. Starter Caleb Whiteley (San Antonio, TX) went eight innings, allowing four runs (three earned) on six hits.
DC is back in action tomorrow as they travel to Concordia College in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game.
