NYACK WARRIORS DEFEAT BASEBALL TWICE IN CACC ACTION
Pomona, NY (3/20/12) The Dominican College baseball team dropped two Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) contests to the visiting Warriors of Nyack College this afternoon in games played at Provident Bank Park. Dominican fell in game one, 3-2 and lost the second game, 6-4, to fall to 3-13 overall and 1-3 in CACC play.

Dominican fell in game one, 3-2 and lost the second game, 6-4, to fall to 3-13 overall and 1-3 in CACC play.
Game One: The Warriors struck first for two runs in the first inning and the score remained 2-0 until the Chargers struck for a run in the bottom on the fourth on the RBI double to left field by outfielder Christopher Gonazlez (Bronx, NY).
A run in the fifth regain a two-run advantage for Nyack, but Dominican added a run in the sixth on the RBI sacrifice fly out by Tom Liang (Bronx, NY) to make the score 3-2. In the bottom of the ninth, the Chargers had the tying run on third base with one out but were unable to plate the tying run.
Right-handed starter Victor Cosme (Brooklyn, NY) took the loss (1-2), alowing three runs (one eared) on three hits and seven strikeouts.
Game Two: Nyack once again struck for two runs in the first for a 2-0 lead. Dominican answered back with a run in the bottom of the first on a solo home run by Xavier Bonilla (Bronx, NY) to make the score 2-1.
Nyack added a run in the third and fourth inning to go ahead 4-1 and scored a run in the seventh and eighth innings to pull ahead 6-1. Dominican scored three runs in the bottom of the ninth as Dallan Vecchio (Boca Raton, FL) had an RBI single to left field and Bonilla later followed with a two-run single to left field. Dominican had the tying run on base but was unable to bring them home was Nyack went on to the 6-4 victory.
Starter Richard Leachy (Brookfield, WI) suffered the loss (0-1), going three innings and allowing four funs on eight hits and six strikeouts.
DC is back in action tomorrow when they face St. Thomas Aquinas College.
