The Chargers broke a scoreless tie with a run in the top of the sixth inning as designated hitter Michael Munoz (Bronx, NY) hit an RBI double to right center to score Tommy Maloney (Massapequa Park, NY) who received a one out walk.
The Lions came back in the bottom stanza to tie the game on an RBI single at 1-1. In the eighth, Dominican regained a 2-1 advantage as Maloney delievered a one out RBI single to center field.
MC once again came back in the bottom half of the inning with an RBI double down right field line to tie the game at 2-2. The Chargers struck for two runs in the top of the ninth on a two-run single through the right side by freshman outfielder Alexi Colon (Millville, NJ) to put DC up 4-2 and give them the eventual victory.
Sophomore starter Tom Kahl (Bay Shore, NY) went seven innings in the no-decision, allowing one run on four hits and nine strikeouts. Freshman Tom Nagy (Greenville, NY) picked up the win in one inning of relief to improve to 2-0 on the year and fellow freshman Justin Moore (Wantagh, NY) picked up his tenth save of the season.
With the victory Dominican improves to 20-9 overall, while Molloy falls to 16-13.
