COLON NAMED CACC ROOKIE OF THE WEEK
Orangeburg, NY (4/27/09) Dominican College baseball player, Alexi Colon, has been named the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Rookie of the Week for the week ending April, 26th. Ray Keelan of Caldwell College earned Player of the Week and Kevin Ernst of Felician College was named the Pitcher of the Week.

Colon, a freshman outfielder from Milleville, NJ, hit .538 in a 3-0 week with 10 RBI, three home runs, four runs scored and one double. Drove in four runs in both ends of a double-header against Felician, including a two-home run, four-RBI game in the nightcap.

Joe Harris, Wilmington (So., LHP, Douglasville, PA) - Threw a 2-hit shutout over 7.0 innings at Post with nine K's.
Michael Frank, Nyack (So., OF, Parker, CO) - Hit .466 with seven RBI, four runs scored and one home run last week.
Emilio Fernandez, Bloomfield (Fr., OF, Paterson, NJ) - Hit . 360 with 11 RBI, eight runs scored and six stolen bases in six games last week.
Jordan Oncay, Wilmington (Fr., OF, Newark, DE) - Hit .444 with six RBI, five runs scored, one triple and three stolen bases in a 3-2 week.
CACC Notes
Bloomfield - In Bloomfield's 3-3 week, Emilio Fernandez had 11
RBI's, six stolen bases, and also hit a grand slam for his first
collegiate home run. Outstanding starting pitching paved the way
for all three Bloomfield wins. Steve Godowski pitched a complete
game 1-hit shutout over Caldwell on Tuesday, Matt Snyder pitched 7
innings allowing one walk and fanning seven and Brad Smith pitched
a complete game to finish the double header sweep of Chestnut Hill
on Saturday, allowing one earned run and striking out a pair of
batters.
Caldwell - The Cougars took three games from USP and swept a doubleheader from Bloomfield to improve to 10-11 in CACC play. The bats came alive, as Caldwell scored 72 runs in the five wins combined, including an 11-run ninth inning vs. Bloomfield on Sunday.
Felician - Felician is in the midst of a regular-season ending stretch of 13 games in 10 days, with only one off-day during that time. With an inside-the-park home run on Sunday against Philadelphia, senior CF Vinnie DiBenedetti tied the Felician all-time record for runs scored with 138. Junior SS Alex Del Valle, the team's No. 2 hitter, scored 10 runs and stole 10 bases in six games last week.
Nyack - After being ranked #2 in the NCCAA Div. 1 National rankings for two straight weeks, the Warriors fell to #5 last week.
