DC got a run on the board in the first as Willie Mann (Patterson, NY) drew a bases loaded walk. The Chargers added a run in the fourth on a sacrifice fly to center field by junior Tommy Maloney (Massapequa, NY) to give them a 2-0 lead.
In the fifth freshman Xavier Bonilla (Bronx, NY) had a two run double to right center, followed by a sacrifice fly ball to right field by shortstop Mario Lopez (Anthony, NM) to give DC a commanding 5-0 lead.
The Pioneers put a run on the board in the sixth and added three runs in the seventh to cut the lead to 5-4. Dominican added three insurance runs in the ninth with Michael Munoz (Bronx, NY) scoring on an error, followed by an RBI single to left field by Robert Iglesias (Mays Landing, NJ). Freshman Armando Alvarez (Miami, FL) platted the game's final run on an RBI infield single as DC went on to the 8-4 victory.
Freshman Tom Nagy (Greenville, NY) picked up his first collegiate win in seven innings of work, allowing four runs on ten hits. Sophomore Joe Zaccaro (Washingtonville, NY) pitched 2/3 of the eighth, while freshman Justin Moore (Wantagh, NY) went 1 1/3 innings.
With the win Dominican improves to 12-8 overall, while C.W. Post falls to 7-18.
