Lyndhurst, NJ (3/29/06) The Dominican College baseball team improved to 17-9 overall and 5-0 in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference with a 9-6 victory over Felician College this afternoon at Breslin Field.

Lyndhurst, NJ (3/29/06) The Dominican College baseball team improved to 17-9 overall and 5-0 in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) with a 9-6 victory over Felician College this afternoon at Breslin Field.
Felician held a 2-0 lead through three innings, when the Chargers exploded for four runs in the fourth to take a 4-2 lead. Jose Made (Binghamton, NY) led off the inning with a single and was followed by a one out RBI single by junior Jose Escalera (Bronx, NY). After stealing second, Escalera scored on the RBI single by catcher Peter Gilardo (Cornwall, NY). Senior Eliezer Nunez (Brooklyn, NY) ripped a triple to score Gilardo and came across the plate on the RBI ground out by Joe Kubanik (Stony Point, NY).
In the bottom stanza, Felician rallied with three runs to take a 5-4 lead, but the Chargers pounded out three runs in the sixth and added two in the eighth as they went on to the 9-6 victory.
Stater Tommy Mejia (Brooklyn, NY) got the win to improve to 4-0 on the year, allowing seven hits and five strikeouts. Freshman Nick Schreiber (Greencastle, PA) picked up the save in three innings of relief.
The Chargers are back in action on Friday, March 31st when they travel to New Jersey Institute of Technology.
