Dominican Ranked Eighth in NCBWA Northeast Regional Poll

Rindge, N.H. (March 20, 2006) – Franklin Pierce is ranked first for the fourth-straight week in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Division II Northeast Regional rankings. The poll was conducted by the region’s six-member committee.

Franklin Pierce Leads NCBWA Northeast Regional Poll

Rindge, N.H.(March 20, 2006) – Franklin Pierce is ranked first for the fourth-straight week in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Division II Northeast Regional rankings. The poll was conducted by the region’s six-member committee.

Franklin Pierce, off to a 15-4 start (0-0 NE-10) for the first time in program history, claimed all six first place votes from the committee. The Ravens are followed by fellow Northeast-10 Conference members University of Massachusetts Lowell (15-2, 3-0 NE-10), reigning Northeast Regional Champions Southern Connecticut State University (13-6, 2-0 NE-10) and Pace University (13-5) while New York Collegiate Athletic Conference members Concordia College (13-11, 2-1 NYCAC) and the University of New Haven (10-4, 3-0 NYCAC) are tied for the fifth spot. The NCBWA’s Northeast Regional committee for 2006 is Doug Monson, Sports Information Director at Franklin Pierce (coordinator), Ken Johnson, SID at Saint Anselm, Chuck Sadowski, SID at New Haven, Jennifer Mischke, SID at Molloy, Tony Berich, Assistant AD/SID at Philadelphia and Bob Heller, Assistant AD/SID at University of Sciences in Philadelphia.

The NCBWA Division II Northeast Regional poll is in no way affiliated with the NCAA Division II Tournament selection committee rankings.
