Bronxville, NY (3/14/06) Junior outfielder Kevin Hickey (New Fairfield, CT) blasted a 3-run home run in the third inning to propel the Clippers to a 14-2 victory over the Chargers of Dominican College today at the Clipper Baseball Field.

Bronxville, NY (3/14/06) Junior outfielder Kevin Hickey (New Fairfield, CT) blasted a 3-run home run in the third inning to propel the Clippers to a 14-2 victory over the Chargers of Dominican College today at the Clipper Baseball Field.
Hickey's home run gave the Clippers a 3-2 lead
and fueled a 10-run inning for Concordia. Hickey
finished the game with 3 RBI and scored 2 runs. Shortstop
Michael Gagliardi (Tarrytown, NY), outfielder
Jason Lewandowski (Smithtown, NY) and infielder
Peter Dempsey (Brewster, NY) all collected 2 hits
and 2 RBI.
Freshman pitcher Robert Gorvetzain (Elmhurst, NY)
pitched 5 innings in relief to pick up the win.
Gorvetzain scattered 7 hits over 5 innings, walked
2 batters and struck out 1 batter.
For the Chargers, senior Mike Zani (Goshen, NY) went 2-4 on the day, while Ed Dolan (Cliffside Park, NJ) and Jose Made (Binghamton, NY) each went 2-3 in the loss and Dolan had an RBI.
Senior Chad Duesler (Northville, NY) had the
other RBI for Dominican.
The Clippers improve to 10-9 on the season. Dominican College falls
to 7-6.
