Dominican Chargers Ranked Fifth in NCBWA Northeast Regional Poll

Rindge, N.H. (March 13, 2006) – Franklin Pierce is ranked first in this week’s National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Division II Northeast Regional rankings. The poll was conducted by the region’s six-member committee.

Rindge, NH (March 13, 2006) – Franklin Pierce is ranked first in this week’s National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Division II Northeast Regional rankings. The poll was conducted by the region’s six-member committee. 

Franklin Pierce, winners of eight-straight and off to an 8-1 start for the first time in program history, claimed all six first place votes from the committee. The Ravens are followed by fellow Northeast-10 Conference members University of Massachusetts Lowell (4-0) and Pace University (6-1), while Concordia College (9-9) of the New York Collegiate Athletic Conference and Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference member Dominican College (7-5), along with reigning Northeast Region Champion Southern Connecticut State (3-4) round out the top six. The complete top ten is listed below.

The NCBWA’s Northeast Regional committee for 2006 is Doug Monson, Sports Information Director at Franklin Pierce (coordinator), Ken Johnson, SID at Saint Anselm, Chuck Sadowski, SID at New Haven, Jennifer Mischke, SID at Molloy, Tony Berich, Assistant AD/SID at Philadelphia and Bob Heller, Assistant AD/SID at University of Sciences in Philadelphia.
