ATHLETIC DEPARTMENT ANNOUNCES SPRING SPORT SCHEDULES

Blauvelt, NY (12/7/07)  The Dominican College Athletic Department has announced the spring sport schedules for the 2008 season.  The Athletic Department's spring sports include baseball, golf, men's lacrosse, women's lacrosse and softball.

The baseball team will open up the season on Monday, March 3rd when they host Mercy College at 3pm.  The Chargers travel to Florida for the annual spring break trip from March 14-22 where they will play Franklin Pierce University, Nova Southeastern University, Dowling College and Southern Connecticut State University.  Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play will begin on March 25th when the team travels to rival Nyack College for a double-header. 

The golf squad will resume from their fall season with the St. Thomas Aquinas College Tournament being held at Rum Pointe Golf Course in Berlin, Maryland on March 14-15.  The CACC Championships will be from April 13-15 at Back Creek Golf Course in Middle Town, DE.   The Chargers will wrap up with the American International College Tournament on April 22-23.

The lacrosse team will begin the season on Sunday, March 2nd with a non-conference home game against St. Anselm College.  The Chargers will head to Florida during spring break to face Rollins College and St. Leo University before starting East Coast Conference (ECC) play on March 29th when they host Mercyhurst College. 

The Lady Chargers Lacrosse Team will open up the season on the road against Manhattanville College on March 8th.  The team will play their first home game on March 15 when they face Georgian Court University.

The softball contingent will open with a CACC double-header against Post University on the road on March 5th.  The Lady Chargers will travel to the Rebel Spring Games in Orlando, Florida for spring break where they will square off against Division II World Series Finalist Lock Haven University, Wayne State University, Tiffin University, Concordia University, Augustana College, the University of New Haven and UMASS-Lowell.  The team will have their first home double-header on March 22nd when they face CACC rival, Goldey-Beacom College.
