Orangeburg, N.Y. (3/17/26) The Dominican University New York men's lacrosse team fell in non-conference action to the Purple Knights of St. Michael's College this afternoon on O'Brien Field.
With the loss, the Chargers fall to 3-4 overall. The Purple Knights improve to 5-1 overall after the win.
Starting goalkeeper for St. Michael's Mike Nelson picked up his fourth win on the season in net and made three saves.
Nicholas Creisher got the start in goal for the Chargers and made 16 saves but suffered the loss. Kyle Janks and Bryce Layton each also saw time in net.
The Purple Knights scored the first three goals of the game before Zachary Souza got the Chargers on the board.
SMC added two more goals before the end of the first quarter for the 5-1 lead to begin the second quarter and then added five more goasl before halftime. Chad Keyser scored in the second quarter for the Chargers and they trailed 10-2 by halftime.
St. Michael's scored three goals in the third quarter and both teams scored one each in the fourth and the Purple Knights finished off the 14-3 win.
Max Gorny scored in the fourth quarter for the Chargers. Sean Cosgrove picked up an assist, two groundballs, and caused one turnover. Ryan Gonzalez, Sean Bradley, and Souza each picked up two groundballs.
The Chargers return to conference play on Friday when they visit Georgian Court University.
