The Chargers opened with the first two goals of the contest as juniors Kevin Mayer (Wantagh, N.Y.) and Ryan Wiberly (Setauket, N.Y.) each netted unassisted goals for the 2-0 lead with 6:41 to play in the first quarter.
RWC would counter with the next two scores to tie the game, 2-2, at the half.
DC regained a 3-2 advantage with 10:04 left in the third quarter as Evan Heegan (North Babylon, N.Y.) scored the man-up goal off the dish from Kevin Meaney (Franklin Square, N,Y.). The Redhawks retied the score with 4:26 to play in the quarter, but Wiberly netted his second game goal to give Dominican the 4-3 edge at the end of three quarters of play.
The final 15 minutes belonged to Roberts Wesleyan College as they scored four unanswered goals for the 7-4 win.
Wiberly led Dominican with two goals.
Goalie Matthew Sandelier (Fort Lauderdale, Fla.) had 11 saves in the loss.
Following the loss, Domiican falls to 0-2 overall and 0-1 in ECC play.
The Chargers will travel to non-conference foe, American International College this coming Tuesday afternoon.
