With the loss, Dominican falls to 2-15 overall and 2-4 in CACC play.
The Lady Chargers trailed 5-1 in the final set when the team went on a 6-0 run, with freshman Kelly Murphy (Evergreen, Colo.) producing five service points to give them the 7-5 advantage. GBC would rally and from there it was a back and forth battle with neither team leading by more than two points.
Trailing 25-24, junior Kera Dexter (Selah, Wash.) recorded a kill to re-tie the set at 25-25, but a Lightning kill and a service ace gave them the 27-25 win and 3-0 match victory.
Cortney Yeoman (Glenn Dale, Md.) had a career high 13 kills with only one attack error for a career high .545 attack percentage.
Murphy and Dexter each finished with nine kills and eight defensive digs, while setter Amanda Hallstein* (Holtsville, N.Y.) had a team best 30 assists and nine digs.
Angela Kim (Marlton, N.J.) had an afternoon high 17 digs in the loss.
The Lady Chargers will travel to non-conference opponent on Monday night for a 7pm match.
