WOMEN'S LACROSSE TOPS BRIDGEPORT
Bridgeport, Conn. (4/1/26) The Dominican University New York women's lacrosse team, currently ranked 18th in the latest USA Lacrosse and 20th in the IWLCA polls, defeated the Purple Knights from the University of Bridgeport, 15-2, this afternoon in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action at Knights Field.
With the win, the Lady Chargers improve to 7-3 overall and 3-0 in conference play.
The Dominican offense got going early as they outscored the Purple Knights, 5-1 in the first quarter.
From there, DUNY went on a 10-0 run that spanned the second and third quarters and included the first goal of the fourth to jump ahead 15-1. The Purple Knights scored the last goal of the game fro the final 15-2 Lady Charger win.
Senior Madelyn Grella led the team with six goals and four assists for eight game points.
CACC Player of the Week, Madison Mileti, finished with three goals and two assists for five points.
Alexa Preston added two scores, while Camryn Grella had one assists. Leila Paz, Dani Cox, Kate Frae and Gabriella Donofrio all had a goal in the win.
Goalkeeper, Daniela Parisi, made ten saves in about 56 minutes of action to earn the win. Dynastee Ramos came in for the final 4:25 and made one save.
Dominican returns to action on April 11th when they host Thomas Jefferson University.
