LADY CHARGERS DEFEAT BEES
Hardeeville, S.C. (3/4/26) The Dominican University New York women's lacrosse team got back into the win column today with a 16-10 victory over the Bees of Savanna College of Art & Design (SCAD).
Dominican, #17 in the IWLCA Coaches Poll, improves to 2-2 overall on the season while SCAD falls to 3-1 overall.
The Lady Chargers had a strong opening half scoring seven goals in the first quarter and five in the second quarter as they took a 12-5 lead into halftime.
SCAD outscored the Lady Chargers 4-1 in the third quarter to cut the DU lead to 13-9 by the start of the fourth quarter.
Dominican scored the first three goals of the fourth quarter to extend their lead to 16-9. SCAD scored with 1:38 left to play and the score would remain as DU picked up the 16-10 win.
DU was led by Madelyn Grella who finished with nine points on a team-high seven goals and two assists.
Madison Mileti scored three goals and added two assists while picking up a team-high four groundballs. Rylie McGhan also scored three goals while Alexa Preston scored two goals and Camryn Grella scored one goal.
Payton LaVallee picked up a team-high five draw controls and caused two turnovers while Jenna Rigo picked up three groundballs and caused one turnover.
Goalkeeper Daniela Parisi recrded 13 saves in her second win of the season in net.
Dominican returns to action tomorrow against Lynn University.
