EAGLES BEAT WOMEN'S BASKETBALL
Waterbury, Conn. (1/20/26) The Dominican University New York women's basketball squad lost in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action this evening to host, Post University, 62-47, in a game played in the Drubner Center.
With the loss, the Chargers fall to 5-13 overall and 3-7 in conference play.
Dominican opened up the contest with an early 6-2 advantage and used a Tamia Nunes trey to take a 17-15 advantage at the end of the first quarter.
The second and third quarters belonged to the Eagles as they outscored the Lady Chargers, 36-18, to lead 51-35 at the end of three quarters of play.
The Lady Chargers won the fourth quarter, scoring 12 points to the Eagle's 11 points, but the Eagles went on to the 62-47 win.
Freshman Ketura Rutty led Dominican with the team's only double-double of 10 points and 10 rebounds and adding four steals.
Nunes finished with nine points, five rebounds, four assists and four steals. Sky Priester tallied eight points with Cayla Howard also scoring eight points, five rebounds and five assists.
Dominican returns to action this Saturday when they travel to Holy Family University in CACC action.
