DOMINICAN DROPS NON-CONFERENCE CONTEST TO MAVERICKS
Dobbs Ferry, N.Y. (1/8/26) The Dominican University New York women's basketball team dropped a non-conference contest to the Mavericks of Mercy University at the Neill Judge Student Athlete Center.
The Lady Chargers now hold an overall record of 4-10 on the season while the Mavericks improve to 9-5.
A close first quarter was followed by a strong second quarter for the Mavericks who took a 34-25 lead into halftime.
A big offensive third quarter saw the Mavericks extend to a double digit lead. The Mavericks added to their lead in the fourth quarter as they extended to their largest lead of the game and closed out the 76-52 win.
Isabella Javier finished with a team-high 12 points on 4-5 from the field while adding one board, two assists, and two steals. Ketura Rutty picked up 11 points while pulling down a team-high seven boards.
Sky Priester finished with nine points and four boards while Tamia Nunes scored seven points and Cayla Howard added six points. Dalana Taylor picked up five boards.
The Lady Chargers return to conference play when they visit Georgian Court University on Saturday.
