STRONG SECOND QUARTER LEADS COUGARS OVER LADY CHARGERS
Caldwell, N.J. (12/9/25) The Dominican University New York women's basketball team lost a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game to host, Caldwell University, 82-60, this evening in a game played in the Newman Center.
With the loss the Lady Chargers fall to 2-6 overall and 1-2 in conference play, while the Cougars improve to 6-3 overall and 2-2 in the CACC.
The second quarter proved to be the decisive quarter for the Cougars as they outscored the Lady Chargers 26-9 to jump out to a 45-28 lead at the intermission.
Caldwell also took advantage oon the foul line, shootting 20-25 (80%) for the game, compared to Dominican's 4-7 performance (57.1%). The hosts held the advantage on the boards, pulling down 36 rebounds to Dominican's 26.
Junior guard Tamia Nunes led the Lady Chargers with a career high 24 points (9-13 from the floor, 5-8 from the three-point arc) and completed the double-double with a game best 12 rebounds in the loss.
Sky Priester tallied 11 points and three assists, while Cayla Howard scored nine points, four assists, two steals and three rebounds.
Dominican returns to action on Saturday afternoon when they travel to Chestnut Hill College.
