WOMEN'S BASKETBALL WRAPS UP ADELPHI CONFERENCE CHALLENGE WITH LOSS TO PANTHERS
Garden City, N.Y. (11/15/25) The Dominican University New York women's basketball team wrapped up opening weekend at the Adelphi University Conference Challenge with a loss to host school Adelphi University.
The Lady Chargers fell to the Panthers this afternoon by a score of 68-56 as they drop to 0-2 early on this season. The Panthers improve to 2-1 after the win.
The Lady Chargers finished the game with a FG% of 37.5% and went 20-34 from the charity stripe.
Senior Cayla Howard and freshman Sky Priester shared a team-high 12 points. Howard picked up a team-high nine boards.
Freshman Ketura Rutty provided eight points and six boards off the bench on 4-7 from the field. Junior Tamia Nunes scored seven points and pulled down six boards while adding two steals. Senior forward Dalana Taylor picked up seven boards.
Both teams played an evenly matched first half as the Panthers held a 34-29 halftime lead. The Lady Chargers put up 17 points in the third quarter and held AU to 12 points as they held a late lead but entered the fourth quarter tied at 46-46.
The Panthers had their best offensive quarter as they scored 22 points and held DU to 10 points on their way to the 68-56 victory.
The Lady Chargers return to action on Wednesday when they host cross town rival St. Thomas Aquinas College in their home opener at 6:00 PM.
