Orangeburg, N.Y. (12/9/17) The Dominican College women's basketball team topped Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) North Division rival, Nyack College, 57-48, this afternoon in a game played on Coach Baxter Court in the Hennessy Center.

With the win, Dominican improves to 2-7 overall and 2-1 in CACC play while, Nyack drops to 1-10 overall and 1-2 in conference play.

Freshman Khay'la Latimer (Teaneck, N.J.) led four starters in double figures with team bests of 16 points (4-7 from the three-point arc) and eight rebounds in the victory.

Forward Jasmine Gee (Englewood, N.J.) contributed 15 points, while Kyla Ramseur (Bloomfield, N.J.) and Rebecca Rabeiro (Midland Park, N.J.) tallied 10 points a-piece.  Rabeiro also grabbed five boards and a season high five steals.

Bryanna Brown scored a game best 17 points, while Audrey Matteson and Yamalis Villegas each had nine rebound for the Warriors.

Dominican trailed 12-10 after one quarter of play and used a 5-0 run by Latimer to begin the second quarter and regain a 15-12 advantage.  A Gee layup with 3:45 left in the half would tie the game at 19-all and DC would close out the half on a 10-4 run to claim a 29-23 lead at the break.

A Latimer trey with 8:21 to go in the third frame would give Dominican their biggest lead of the contest, 32-24, but the Warriors would eventually narrow the margin to 36-33 at the end of three quarters of play.

Nyack would later tie the score, 46-all with 2:48 to play, however a four-point swing by the Lady Chargers regained a four-point lead (50-46) and they closed out the game on a 7-2 run (5-6 from the charity stripe) for the 57-48 win.

The Lady Chargers return to action next Saturday afternoon as they take on the College of Saint Rose in the College of Saint Rose Holiday Tournament.
