MEN'S VOLLEYBALL FALLS TO REDHAWKS IN ECC OPENER
Orangeburg, N.Y. (3/14/26) The Dominican University New York men's volleyball team dropped their East Coast Conference (ECC) opener to the Redhawks of Roberts Wesleyan University this afternoon on Coach Baxter Court in the Hennessy Center.
The Chargers fall to 4-14 overall and 0-1 in the ECC after the loss. The Redhawks improve to 13-10 overall and 1-1 in conference play.
The Redhawks opened opened the match with back to back wins 25-16 in the first set and 25-18 in the second set for the 2-0 lead.
The third set was a back and forth battle where the largest lead for both teams was two points.
Dominican led 21-20, but the Redhawks scored three unanswered points for the 23-21 lead and later completed the 25-23 win and secured the sweep.
Jackson Shaw led the Chargers in kills with 12 and points scored with 13 while also picking up three digs and two block assists. Ayden Shaw added seven kills and seven digs.
Phinehas Wiley recorded a team-high three total blocks and five digs while Tommaso Falchi five kills and Luke Gavin-Ruple picked up four kills and two block assists.
Alejandro Miranda recorded a team-high 11 digs and Jaiden Wilcox led the way in assists with 14 while Seth Terry picked up 11 assists.
The Chargers return to action tomorrow afternoon for their second straight ECC match against American International College at 1:00 PM in the Hennessy Center.
