CHARGERS SWEEP SEASON SERIES OVER D'YOUVILLE
Buffalo, N.Y. (2/21/26) The Dominican University New York men's volleyball team wrapped up their weekend trip with a win over D'Youville University this afternoon.
The Chargers defeated the Saints 3-1 to sweep the season series and improved to 4-10 overall while D'Youville falls to 2-10.
Dominican opened the match with a 25-14 win for a 1-0 lead. The Saints bounced back with a 25-22 victory in the second set to tie the match at 1-1.
The third set saw a back and forth battle go to the Chargers by a score a 25-23 for a 2-1 advantage. Dominican trailed early in the fourth set, but a 9-4 run put the Chargers up 15-13. Dominican later built a lead and closed out the 3-1 victory.
Phinehas Wiley recorded a match-high 28 points scored on 21 kills, a team-high four service aces, and six block assists. Wiley also picked up 11 digs. Ayden Shaw added 10 kills and 10 digs while Seth Terry recorded 42 assists.
Tommaso Falchi finished with eight kills while Luke Gavin-Ruple picked up a team-high seven block assists.
The Chargers return to action next Saturday on the road when they visit Princeton University.
