DOMINICAN UPENDS MANHATTAN IN THREE SETS
Orangeburg, N.Y. (2/4/26) The Dominican University New York men's volleyball team earned a three set sweep over the Jaspers of Manhattan University.
The Chargers improve to 3-6 overall while the Jaspers fall to 2-6.
Dominican took the opening set 25-19 as they jumped in front early and held off a late push by the Jaspers to take a 1-0 match lead. The second set saw both teams trade points but the Chargers extended to a five point lead and on their way to the 25-22 win for a 2-0 advantage.
Dominican rolled early in the third set jumping out to a 10-2 lead and then later extended to a 20-11 lead. The Jaspers climbed back into the set using a 7-2 run but the Chargers held off the comeback to complete the sweep.
The Chargers were led by Jackson Shaw who finished with 16 kills and one service ace for 17 points while adding four digs. Phinehas Wiley finished with 10 kills while adding seven digs and three block assists.
Ayden Shaw picked up six kills and six digs while Tommaso Falchi and Luke Gavin-Ruple each added four kills. Alejandro Miranda finished with a team-high nine digs while Seth Terry led the way with 37 assists.
The Chargers return to action tomorrow night when they visit the University of Maryland Eastern Shore.
