Fairfield, Conn. (1/31/26) The Dominican University New York men's volleyball team dropped their second of two matches in as many nights to the Pioneers of Sacred Heart University.
After splitting the first two sets, the Pioneers won the next two sets to take the match 3-1 and improved to 5-2 overall. After the loss, the Chargers fall to 2-6 overall.
The Pioneers opened the match with a 25-21 victory which was followed by a 25-23 win by the Chargers to tie the match at 1-1.
Back to back victories by the Pioneers 25-21 and 25-19 to secure the win.
The Chargers were led by Jackson Shaw who matched a season high 13 kills while also adding six digs. Phinehas Wiley recorded 11 kills and picked up four digs.
Luke Gavin-Ruple and Tommaso Falchi picked up six kills while Ayden Shaw added four kills. Falchi also added four block assists. Jaiden Wilcox picked up a team-high 32 assists while Alejandro Miranda added a team-high 12 digs.
The Chargers return home Wednesday night when they host Manhattan University.
