CHARGERS FALL IN A BACK AND FORTH BATTLE TO MINERS
Orangeburg, N.Y. (1/17/26) The Dominican University New York men's volleyball team fell to the Miners of Missouri S&T this afternoon in four sets.
The Chargers fell to 1-3 overall while the Miners improve to 3-1.
The Miners took the first two sets by the score of 25-23 each just edging the Chargers for the 2-0 advantage.
Dominican extended the match with a 25-23 victory to get on the board. Both teams battled again as they traded points down the stretch, but it was the Miners who edged DU 30-28 for the 3-1 match win.
Phinehas Wiley recorded a team-high 21 kills while also adding three solo blocks for 24.0 points. Wiley also finished with 14 digs.
Ayden Shaw and his brother Jackson Shaw each recorded 13 kills. Ayden Shaw added two service aces and two block assists for 16.0 points while Jackson Shaw picked up eight digs.
Seth Terry and Jaiden Wilcox combined for 47 assists. Alejandro Miranda had a team-high 15 digs.
The Chargers close out their homestand next Frdiay when they welcome D'Youville University.
