#7 CHARGERS UPENDED BY #2 PURPLE KNIGHTS IN CACC QUARTERFINALS

Bridgeport, Conn. (11/9/25)  The seventh-seeded Dominican University New York men's soccer team fell to the #2 University of Bridgeport, 2-1, this afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Quarterfinal matchup played at Knights Field.

The Chargers struck first as midfielder Matheus Xavier netted his fifth goal of the season on a shot that got passed the Purple Knight keeper just six and a half minutes into the contest.

Dominican held on to the lead until the 67th minute of action when Bridgeport recorded a goal to tie the game at 1-1.  UB took the lead in the 87th minute and went on to the 2-1 win.

Charger keeper David Arteaga had a season high 12 saves in the loss.

With the loss, the Chargers conclude the season with an overal record of 4-10-3.
