Philadelphia, Pa. (10/18/25) The Dominican University New York men's soccer team earned a shutout victory over the Tigers of Holy Family University on Tiger Field.
The Chargers had three different goal scorers in the game to lead them to the 3-0 victory as DU improves to 3-6-3 overall and 3-3-1 in conference play. The Tigers fall to 3-6-2 overall and 2-3-2 in conference play.
DU keeper David Arteaga made six saves and picked up his second shutout and third win of the season.
Holy Family goalkeepers Joey Phillips and Bruno Mestres combined four combined saves.
The Chargers found the back of the net twice in the first half after Louan Seveno and Will Waters each connected for goals to give DU a 2-0 lead by halftime. Bigad Sid and Henrique Zachello each picked up assists on the goals.
The Chargers pushed their lead to 3-0 in the 68th minute when Matheus Xavier scored his team-leading third goal of the season and Nichlas Thulin Kamfjord picked up the assist.
The Chargers held a slight edge in shots in the win 13-12 while the Tigers held the edge in corner kicks 4-3.
The Chargers return to action next Saturday when they visit Georgian Court University for a CACC battle with the Lions.
