Orangeburg, N.Y. (10/11/25) The Dominican University New York men's soccer team edged the Griffins of Chestnut Hill College on O'Brien Field by a score of 2-1 this afternoon.
The Chargers improve to 2-6-3 overall and 2-3-1 in conference play. The Griffins fall to 6-5-1 overall and 2-3-1 in conference play.
DU goalkeeper David Arteaga picked up the win improving to 2-5-2 on the season and made three saves.
Chestnut Hill goalkeeper Rodrigo Artiga made four saves but suffered the loss.
The Chargers scored both of their goals in the first half and that is all they would need in their way to the 2-1 win.
Nichlas Thulin Kamfjord got the scoring started after Louan Seveno forced a takeaway inside of the box and connected with Thulin Kamfjord for the 1-0 lead.
The Chargers extended their lead in the 32nd minute after Breki Egilsson sent a high pass into the box where Lorenz Utz found the back of the net on a header for the 2-0 lead. Egilsson picked up the assist.
The Griffins cut the deficit in half in the 85th minute after a through ball pass by Milan Umeoka opened the door for Robert Keegan to find the back of the net.
The Chargers would only allow one more shot as time ran out and they secured the win.
The Chargers return to action next Saturday when they visit Holy Family University.
