Orangeburg, N.Y. (9/20/25) The Dominican University New York men's soccer team fell in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action to the visiting Wildcats of Wilmington University, 3-2, this afternoon in game played at O'Brien Field.
Following the loss, the Chargers are now 1-4-1 overall and 1-1 in CACC play.
The Wildcats struck first with a goal in the 34th minute of action, but the Chargers countered less than 10 minutes later as Lorenz Utz headed the ball into the net off the corner kick assist by Eyob McFarland to re-tie the game at 1-1.
Dominican would go ahead 2-1 at 47:14 when sophomore Matheus Xavier netted the unassisted goal.
WU retied the game in the 61st minute and netted the game-winner at the 87:40 mark for the 3-2 win.
The Wildcats held the advantage in both shots and corner kicks.
Keeper David Arteaga made eight saves in the loss.
The Chargers return to action on Wednesday when they travel to the College of Staten Island.
