MEN'S BASKETBALL UPENDED BY EAGLES
Waterbury, Conn. (1/20/26) The Dominican University New York men's basketball team was upended by Post University, 81-72, this evening in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) game played in the Drubner Center.
With the loss, Dominican is now 7-9 overall and 4-5 in conference play.
Ahead 35-31 at the end of the first half, the Chargers opened the second frame by going on an 8-2 run to increase their lead to 43-33 with 18:07 remaining.
Post would rally to tie the score at 57-all with under nine minutes to go and over the next three minutes, the team would trade points to shuffle the lead back and forth. A layup by the Eagles with 5:53 on the clock would but the host ahead for good as they went on to the win.
Senior Koi D. Kirk, Jr. led three Chargers in double figures with 22 points and pulled down a career high 15 rebounds.
Guard Elijah Peters added 18 points and eight rebounds, while Tyler Edore added 14 points and six boards in the loss.
Chance Morrish recorded nine points with Key'Sean Maynard dishing out a team best six assists and four steals.
Dominican returns to action on Saturday afternoon when they travel to Holy Family University.
