BIG OFFENSIVE SECOND HALF LIFTS CHARGERS OVER GRIFFINS
Philadelphia, Pa. (12/13/25) The Dominican University New York men's basketball team defeated the Griffins of Chestnut Hill College in CACC action this afternoon at the Sargenti Arena in Philadelphia, Pa.
Dominican used a big offensive second half to propel them to the 80-74 victory as they improve to 6-2 overall and 3-1 in conference play. The Griffins fall to 3-7 overall and 2-2 in the CACC.
The Griffins held a two-point edge over the Chargers by halftime but the Chargers scored 47 points in the second half as they shot 58.8% from the field.
Dominican trailed by two points with just under two minutes left to play and then finished the game on a 12-4 run to secure the win.
Chance Morrish finished the game with 17 points, all in the second half as he shot 8-10 from the field adding one three-pointer. Morrish also added four rebounds, two assists, and one steal.
Isaiah Honis led all scorers with 19 points and picked up nine rebounds both season highs. Honis also dished out two assists and added two steals. Elijah Peters scored 15 points and added five boards while Javel Cherry scored 11 points.
Koi D. Kirk, Jr. added 10 points, six boards, and three assists in the win.
Dominican finished the game 33-62 from the field (53.2%) and added 13 points from the charity stripe. Dominican cashed in 28 points off of 17 CHC turnovers while also scoring 58 points in the paint.
Dominican returns to action on Tuesday for a non-conference road match up with the Panthers of Adelphi University.
