DOMINICAN FALLS TO GRIFFINS IN FIVE SET THRILLER
Philadelphia, Pa. (11/1/25) The Dominican University New York women's volleyball team dropped a tough, 3-2, decision this afternoon to the Griffins of Chestnut Hill College in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) action played in Sorgenti Arena.
With the loss, Dominican is now 6-13 overall and 3-7 in the CACC.
The Griffins took the first two sets by scores of 26-24 and 25-22 for the early 2-0 lead. The Lady Chargers took the third set, 25-10 and won a fourth set thriller, 29-27 to tie the match at 2-2. CHC was able to win the fifth set, 18-16, for the 3-2 match victory.
The third set saw the Lady Chargers have an attack percentage of .750 with 15 kills and no errors.
Senior Elizabeth Perez led Dominican with a season high 19 kills, three service aces and 13 digs.
Savannah Tody and Layla Shipley each contributed 14 kills in the loss, while setter Kaeden Sanstead tallied 53 assists.
Freshman Haile Comeau had a team best 27 digs, while Delaney Ott added 14 digs and Alexandria De Iasi had nine kills.
Dominican returns to action on Thursday evening when they host Felician University in CACC action on Coach Baxter Court. Match time is slated for 7pm.
