(3/11/21) The Dominican College women's volleyball team ended the regular season with a 3-2 victory (25-19, 15-25, 16-25, 25-20, 25-9) over the visiting Golden Falcons of Felician University in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match on Coach Baxter Court in the Hennessy Center.

(3/11/21) The Dominican College women's volleyball team ended the regular season with a 3-2 victory (25-19, 15-25, 16-25, 25-20, 25-9) over the visiting Golden Falcons of Felician University in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match on Coach Baxter Court in the Hennessy Center.
Tonight was also senior night for #1 Essence Boyd (Peekskill, N.Y.) who finished the match with 18 assists, 15 digs and five kills in the win.
After losing the opening set, Dominican (1-6, 1-5 CACC) held the slight 16-15 advantage in the second when four straight points, ended with a kill from Boyd increased the lead to 20-15. Later a kill from Lily Ainsworth (Colorado Springs, Colo.) put DC at set point (24-19) and Emmalyn LaPier (Endicott, N.Y.) closed out the set with a kill off the assist from Boyd.
Down 2-1, the Chargers used a 4-0 run to take a 24-19 lead in the fourth and forced the decisive fifth set with a kill from sophomore Zoe Clifford (Suffern, N.Y.) for the 25-20 set win.
Tied at 3-all in the fifth, DC scored five unanswered points, capped off by a service ace from LaPier, to jump ahead 8-3. A block assist from Clifford and Krystal Paulino (Bronx, N.Y.) put Dominican at match point (14-6), but Felician would score the next three points to cut the lead to 14-9. An Golden Falcon attack error ended the match and gave Dominican the 15-9 set win and 3-2 match victory.
LaPier finished with 19 kills, 10 digs and four block assists to pace the Chargers.
Ainsworth finished with a team high 19 assists, eight kills and 16 digs, while libero Linda Armao Peng (Houston, Texas) had a match high 28 digs.
Paulino recorded 10 digs and five kills and Clifford added eight kills in the win.
For the Golden Falcons, Katie Asbery tallied 19 kills, while Miquela Martinez had a match high 37 assists.
Next up for Dominican is the CACC Tournament which is slated to begin next Tuesday evening.
