#1S PHILADELPHIA RAMS EDGE #4N WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL
Philadelphia, Pa. (11/17/15) The Philadelphia University volleyball team, the overall top seed, edged the Dominican College women's volleyball team, the fourth seed in the North Division, 3-2 this evening in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Volleyball Quarter-Final game played at the Gallagher Center.

(11/17/15) The Philadelphia University volleyball team, the overall top seed, edged the Dominican College women's volleyball team, the fourth seed in the North Division, 3-2 this evening in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Women's Volleyball Quarter-Final game played at the Gallagher Center.
Philadelphia took the opening set by the score of 25-13 and opened the second set with a 5-3. DC rallied with an 8-1 run, capped off by a kill from senior Amanda Hallstein* (Holtsville, N.Y.), to pull ahead 11-6 and later extended the lead to 17-10 on a kill from Kelly Murphy (Evergreen, Colo.). A Ram attack error gave the Lady Chargers the 25-20 victory.
Neither team led by more than two points in the third set and was tied at 24-all when back-to-back Philadelphia errors gave Dominican a 26-24 win and 2-1 match lead.
The Rams jumped out to a 6-1 lead in the fourth set and led by as many as 11 points en route to a 25-19 set victory and force the decisive fifth game.
The fifth set belonged to the top seed as they quickly took an 8-0 lead and went on to the 15-4 win and 3-2 match victory.
Senior Ashley Joyner (Edgewood, Md.) led Dominican in her final game as she tallied a career high 15 kills, recorded a .333 attack percentage, and had five block assists.
Murphy finished with nine kills and 11 defensive digs.
Hallstein had a team high 29 assists in her last game, completed the double-double with 11 digs and added five block assists.
Starting libero Angela Kim (Marlton, N.J.) had 10 digs in the loss.
Philadelphia advances to the CACC Semi-Finals where they will take on #2N Bloomfield College on Friday afternoon.
Dominican concludes the season with an overall record of 6-26.
