DOMINICAN AND WILMINGTON ADVANCE TO 2012 CACC VOLLEYBALL CHAMPIONSHIP MATCH
New Castle, Del (11/9/12) The Dominican College women's volleyball team, the top seed in the North Division, advanced to the 2012 Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) Championship match after defeating Philadelphia University, the second seed in the South Divsion, 3-0, this evening in one of two semi-final matches. In the other match, Wilmington University topped Georgian Court University, 3-2.

In the other match, Wilmington University topped Georgian Court University, 3-2.
Dominican took a 10-6 lead in the first set as senior Courtney Heard (Ventura, Calif.) recorded back-to-back kills. The Rams came back to tie the set at 18-18, but DC charged ahead with a 5-0 run to go up 23-18 as they went on to the 25-18 win.
The second set was tied at 10-10 when the Lady Chargers went on to outscore the Rams 5-1 over the next six points to go ahead 15-11 and never looked back en route to the 25-18 win and 2-0 match lead.
In the third set, Dominican once again took an early lead, 10-6, and never trailed in the 25-18 win.
CACC Rookie of the Year, Tori Dexter (Selah, Wash.) had a match high 13 kills.
Heard, senior Michelle Fiorvanti (Commack, N.Y.) and Randi Garrett (Rockledge, Fla.) all added six kills a-piece in the win.
Setter Whitney Ranger* (Ventura, Calif.) had a team leading 25 assists, while libero Jordyn Fuller* (Keller, Texas) had a team leading 18 defensive digs.
N'Jameh Philip (Monroe, N.Y.) had 10 digs.
Dominican will take on Wilmington University, the top seed in the south division, tomorrow at 1pm in the 2012 CACC Championship match.
