VOLLEYBALL SWEEPS WILMINGTON UNIVERSITY

(10/27/12) The Dominican College women's volleyball team swept Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) opponent, Wilmington University, 3-0 (25-20, 25-19, 25-20) this afternoon in a match played on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center. With the win, Dominican improves to 21-7 overall and 17-0 in conference play.

(10/27/12) The Dominican College women's volleyball team swept Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) opponent, Wilmington University, 3-0 (25-20, 25-19, 25-20) this afternoon in a match played on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center. With the win, Dominican improves to 21-7 overall and 17-0 in conference play.
The first set was tied 10-all when DC went on an 8-3 run to go ahead 18-13. The 'Cats came back to cut the lead to 19-18, but the Lady Chargers scored the next three points for a 22-18 lead en route to the 25-20 win.
Set two was tied at 2-2 when Dominican went on an 8-1 tear to go ahead 10-3 and led by as many as nine points as they cruised to a 25-19 win and take a 2-0 match lead.
In the final set, WU went ahead 4-1 but DC came back with four straight points to claim a 5-4 lead. Later tied at 8-8, Dominican charged ahead as they outcscored Wilmingon, 9-4 over the next 13 points to pull head 17-12 and Kristen Loney* (Pine Bush, N.Y.) closed out the match with a kill for the 25-20 win and 3-0 match victory.
Freshman Tori Dexter (Selah, Wash.) led the Lady Chargers with a double-double of 14 kills and 21 defensive digs.
Loney and senior Michelle Fiorvanti (Commack, N.Y.) each recorded 10 kills, while Fiorvanti added 11 digs.
Libero Jordyn Fuller* (Keller, Texas) tallied 18 digs, while N'Jameh Philip (Monore, N.Y.) added 13 digs.
Setter Whitney Ranger* (Ventura, Calif.) had a match leadin 36 assists, while adding 14 digs.
Before the match the team honored seniors Fiorvanti, Fuller, Courtney Heard (Ventura, Calif.), Danielle Johnston (Cornwall, N.Y.), Loney, Philip and Ranger.
Dominican is back in action on Tuesday evening as they travel to Felician College.
