LADY CHARGERS VOLLEYBALL DOWNS GOLDEY-BEACOM COLLEGE

Orangeburg, N.Y. (10/20/12) The Dominican College volleyball team defeated the visiting Lightning of Goldey-Beacom College, 3-0, this afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match played on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center. The Lady Chargers won the match by scores of 26-24, 25-6 and 25-14 to improve to 18-7 overall and 4-0 in the CACC.

Orangeburg, N.Y. (10/20/12)  The Dominican College volleyball team defeated the visiting Lightning of Goldey-Beacom College, 3-0, this afternoon in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match played on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center.  The Lady Chargers won the match by scores of 26-24, 25-6 and 25-14 to improve to 18-7 overall and 4-0 in the CACC.

Dominican trailed early in set one (6-1), but would later tie it at 8-8.  Tied at 24-all, DC recorded back-to-back kills from Whitney Ranger* (Ventura, Calif.) and Tori Dexter (Selah, Wash.) for the 26-24 win.

The Lady Chargers never trailed in second set as outscored GBC 10-2 over the first 12 points and closed out the set with an 8-1 run for the 25-6 win.

DC went up 10-4 in the third set and led by as many as eight points (20-12).  A 5-2 run ended the match as Dominican won 25-14.

Dexter and cousin, Kayla Dexter (Selah, Wash.), each had a team leading seven kills in the victory.

Randi Garrett (Rockledge, Fla.) and Courtney Heard (Ventura, Calif.) had five kills a-piece.

Setter Ranger had a match leadin 26 assists, while libero Jordyn Fuller* (Keller, Texas) tallied a match leading 15 defensive digs.

Dominican is back in action on Tuesday night at the Hennessy Center as they host, Concordia College.
