VOLLEYBALL BEATS CONCORDIA COLLEGE

Bronxville, N.Y. (10/12/12) The Dominican College volleyball team improved to 15-7 overall and remained undefeated in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play at 11-0 after defeating host, Concordia College, 3-1, this evening in a match played at the Meyer Athletic Center.

Bronxville, N.Y. (10/12/12)  The Dominican College volleyball team improved to 15-7 overall and remained undefeated in Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) play at 11-0 after defeating host, Concordia College, 3-1, this evening in a match played at the Meyer Athletic Center.

Set one was tied at 16-all when the Lady Chargers went on a 6-3 run to go ahead 22-19.  Senior N'Jameh Philip (Monroe, N.Y.) closed out the set with a kill for the 25-21 win.

DC jumped out to a 10-6 advantage in set two and cruised to a 25-12 win.

The Clippers fought back to take set three 26-24 and cut the match deficit to 2-1.

The fourth set was tied at 8-8 when Dominican went on an 8-1 tear to take a commanding 16-9 lead.  CC came back to re-tie the set at 20-20 and later back-to-back kills by Kayla Dexter (Selah, Wash.) and setter Whitney Ranger* (Ventura, Calif.) put the Lady Chargers at match point 24-20.  A block assist by Ranger and Dexter closed out the match with a 25-20 victory.

Freshman Tori Dexter (Selah, Wash.) led the Lady Chargers with 12 kills and added 12 defensive digs.

Ranger and Kristen Loney (Pine Bush, N.Y.) each had seven kills, while Ranger added 30 assists.

Libero Jordyn Fuller* (Keller, Texas) had a match leading 23 digs.

Amanda Hallstein (Holtsville, N.Y.) had 12 assists.

Dominican is back in action tomorrow as they travel to the University of the Sciences.
