LADY CHARGERS STAY HOT WITH VICTORY OVER NYACK COLLEGE

Nyack, N.Y. (10/9/12) The Dominican College women's volleyball team extended their winning streak to eight straight matches after sweeping host, Nyack College, 3-0 this evening in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match played at the Bowman Gymnasium. With the win Dominican improves to 14-7 overall and 10-0 in conference play.

Nyack, N.Y. (10/9/12)  The Dominican College women's volleyball team extended their winning streak to eight straight matches after sweeping host, Nyack College, 3-0 this evening in a Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) match played at the Bowman Gymnasium.  With the win Dominican improves to 14-7 overall and 10-0 in conference play.

Freshman outside hitter Tori Dexter (Selah, Wash.) led all attackers with 11 kills and a .320 attack percentage on the evening.

Libero Jordyn Fuller* (Keller, Texas) led three Lady Chargers in double digits in defensive digs with 16.  Michelle Fiorvanti (Commack, N.Y.) tallied 15 digs and five kills, while N'Jameh Philip (Monroe, N.Y.) finished with 13 digs.

Courtney Heard (Ventura, Calif.) and Kristen Loney (Pine Bush, N.Y.) each added six kills a-piece in the victory.

Setter Whitney Ranger* (Ventura, Calif.) had a match leading 32 assists.

Dominican never trailed in the first set as a 9-2 run put them up 16-10 and they charged on to the 25-15 win.

The Lady Chargers opened up an 11-3 lead in the second set and later won the set 25-17 on a kill from Heard.

The third set was tied at 10-all when DC went on a 10-2 tear to take a 20-12 lead.  Fiorvanti had a 6-0 service run, while Fuller had a 4-0 service run.  Loney served two points to put Dominican at match point 24-15 and after back-to-back Lady Charger errors, a Nyack serving error ended the match with the final score of 25-17.

DC returns to action on Friday evening as they travel to Concordia College.
