WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL DOWN BLOOMFIELD COLLEGE
Bloomfield, NJ (10/9/09) The Dominican College women's volleyball team downed Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) opponent, Bloomfield College 3-0 last night at the Bloomfield Gymnasium.
Bloomfield, NJ (10/9/09) The Dominican College women's volleyball team downed Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) opponent, Bloomfield College 3-0 last night at the Bloomfield Gymnasium.
In the first set, Bloomfield led 16-13 when
freshman Courtney Heard (Ventura, CA) served the
chargers on a 9-1 run to take a21-17 and solidifying a 25-19 set
victory.
DC jumped out to a 4-1 lead to start the second set, but the Lady
Deacons rallied and eventually tied the score at 10. The Lady
Chargers answered back with a 15-5 run to take the second set by a
25-15 margin.
Bloomfield held a 21-20 advantage in the third set, but Lady
Charger Jordyn Fuller (Keller, TX) capped the
victory by serving up five straight points to secure the 25-21
victory and 3-0 victory.
Heard led Dominican with nine kills. Setter Whitney Ranger (Ventura, CA) had 23 assists, while Michelle Klimas (Thornwood, NY) had a team leading 10 defensive digs.
With the victory the Lady Chargers improve to 13-8 overall and 7-3 in the CACC.
DC is back in action tomorrow when they host the University of Sciences in Philadelphia in CACC women's volleyball action on Coach Baxter Court at the Hennessy Center. Game time is slated for 12pm for the Lady Chargers Dig Pink Game.
