WILLIAMS AND JIMENEZ HAVE HIGH FINISHES AT GARDEN STATE OPEN
Staten Island, N.Y. (2/13/26) The Dominican University New York men's and women's track and field team competed at the Garden State Open held this evening at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex.
Aaaron Williams had the high finish of fourth place for the men in the 60m dash, while Genesis Jimenez had a third place finish in the women's 60m dash.
Men's Results
- Aaron Williams took fourth place in the 60m dash with a time of 7.12. Jean Franco Del Valle Guerrero finished in 21st place with a time of 7.52, while Aidan Mallon took 23rd place with a time of 7.56. Eliezer Rosario ran a time of 7.57 to finish in 31st place.
- In the 400m dash, Tyler Colebrook ran a time of 52.29 to finish in seventh place, while Nickoy Henry took eighth place with a time of 52.42. Freshman Christopher Rodriguez Gonzalez took 14th place with a time of 53.26 and Connor Grable followed with a 16th place finish, posting a time of 53.97. Jameel Richardson took 21st place with a time of 56.17.
- In the 800m run, Deshawn Douglas ran a time of 2:03.58 to finish in ninth place, while Samuel Fileen took 10th place with a time of 2:03.68. Prince Copeland finished in 10th place with a time of 2:04.04.
- Zachary Dertinger took 20th place in the one mile run with a time of 5:23.29 and Eslian Henriquez Flores finished in 26th place in the mile run with a time of 5:38.30.
- The 200m dash saw Rosario take 17th place with a time of 23.82 and Guerrero finished in 28th place with a time of 24.90. Mallon took 31st place with a time of 25.34.
Women's Results
- In the 60m dash, Genesis Jimenez took third place with a time of 8.65, while freshman Gabrielle Brooks took fourth place with a time of 8.90.
- Isabella Mack ran in the 200m dash and finished in fifth place with a time of 27.99. Jimenez took ninth place with a time of 28.93 and Brooks finished in 11th place with a time of 29.74.
The teams as scheduled to return to action next Friday at the Fast Track Last Chance Meet.
